2023 Breeders' Cup Recap

White Abarrio takes home the victory!

On Saturday, November 4, Official Ticket Package holders watched from the comfort of their reserved seats as White Abarrio finished first in the 40th running of the Breeders’ Cup.

The Triple Crown races usually spotlight three-year-old-horses; however, the 2023 Breeders’ Cup was notable for the remarkable achievement of two Japanese horses placing among the top five.

White Abarrio, who came into the race with 4-1 odds, delivered trainer Rick Dutrow his fourth Breeders’ Cup victory.

Arabian Knight, who was a favored winner, shot to the front, but the thoroughbreds’ stamina ultimately proved insufficient. Saudi Crown then took the lead, but on the far turn Saudi retreated and White Abarrio quickly moved to leader.

The victory was worth $3,120,000 and increased White Abarrio’s earnings to $4,946,350 with a record of 15-7-1-3 that include three Grade 1 victories.
